Belajar Menjadi Reviewer Paper Internasional ( Mulai dari the 6th IFAC Symposium on Robust Control Design, ROCOND'09)

Bermula dari membuka email yang masuk ditengah malam menjelang tidur, ada beberapa pesan dalam "Inbox" yang menarik untuk dibaca, namun diantara pesan tersebut ada yang terasa aneh dan mencuri perhatian. pesan tersebut berasal dari Dr. Warren E. Dixon.

Ada tawaran untuk menjadi salah satu reviewer pada program "The 6th IFAC Symposium on Robust Control Design, ROCOND'09, di Haifa,Israel, June 16 -18,2009".

Membaca pesan ini, saya merasa tersanjung dan sekaligus kaget, apakah kapasitas saya sebagai Master student semester 4 mampu untuk menjalankan amanah ini?

Saya mulai berpikir, dan membaca paper yang dikirimkan dalam lampiran, dan setelah membaca, merenung dan meminta saran dari senior, akhirnya saya setuju dan mencoba belajar menjadi Reviewer di konferensi internasional yang saya anggap cukup bergengsi tersebut.

Sebenarnya pesan tersebut tidak tanpa alasan, karena saya pernah menjadi peserta " the 17th World Congress The International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC)" di Seoul, Korea, July 6-11, 2008 yang merupakan konferensi bergengsi (setidaknya menurut saya dan dosen pembimbing) , konferensi ini diadakan setiap 3 tahun. Mungkin karena alasan tersebut, dan juga paper yang akan direview mempunyai kaitan dengan bidang yang saya tekuni sehingga saya dipilih menjadi salah satu kandidat reviewer. Apapun alasannya, amanah ini menjadi tantangan tersendiri.

Akhirnya, semoga dengan tantangan diatas, dengan sekuat tenaga, waktu dan pikiran. saya berusaha untuk sebaik mungkin mengemban amanah tersebut, juga menjadi awal yang baik sebagai reviewer, dan berlanjut di waktu mendatang, Amien.

Tanggal 7 November 2008 ini adalah tanggal yang sangat spesial. Hari pulang liburan untuk bertemu istri dan anak. Dua bulan kurang sedikit sudah kubeli tiket dan berhitung hari, sampai akhirnya tiba juga hari yang ditunggu. Maha pemurahnya Alloh sehingga saat-saat terakhir menunggu, diberi hadiah yang sangat special. Hadiah dengan diterimanya paperku di Journal Internasional Physica C : Superconductivity and Its Applications (Elsevier).

Sebelumnya juga sudah diberi rejeki yang tak terduga dengan mendapatkan student grant saat mengikuti konferensi SICE2008 di TOKYO agustus lalu, yang nilainya alhamdulillah cukup untuk beli tiket pulang dan beli oleh-oleh, dan yang tidak kalah bahagianya, paperku di SICE2008 dilamar untuk dimasukkan dengan gratis di Journal of Cibernetics and Systems ( Journal pertamaku).

Semoga Journal yang lain segera mengikuti untuk diterima dan dipublikasi.
